Urban revitalization projects are nothing new. What's happening in downtown Las Vegas, however, has a distinctly unique feel to it. Enter The Downtown Project, born of Zappos culture and galvanized by lead investor Tony Hsieh, this ambitious endeavor proposes to do more than resuscitate downtown Las Vegas - it proposes to give it an entirely new life. Andy White is heading up this project, which is an independent, privately-held venture that, while partially funded by Tony Hsieh, is *not* a Zappos business. In this interview he talks about the project, how it came about, what they plan to accomplish and some challenges they know that lie ahead.
