Clip gulping down a sports drink ala 300 from the recent CT Omega video. My original technique was to crank up the 60fps clip to 12x then slow down to near 0 for the highlights. This time I use 0.5 to 0.25x of 60fps as the base then speed up to 1x-2x.

I use Sony Vegas 8 for editing. It has a feature called velocity envelopes that allow you to speed up and slow down your clips.

Thanks for providing details on how. Kind of a random moment to super-dramatize this way, but that's what's cool about it.

I always find it hilarious, a good soundtrack and the right effects can make almost anything seem epic!

Thanks a bunch! BTW mike, any advise on how to get the footage coloured between B/W and color in AE? (If you know what i mean?)
  • Mike Dulay 2 years ago
Hmm ... I use Sony Vegas but there should be an HSL (hue, saturation, luminance) Adjustment tool in AE. Bring your Saturation down to something like 50-75% and that will give it the look you're describing.

If you follow the link in the description to the main video vimeo.com/474459, I used that effect for the montage and at 1:41.

It's also me learning to use Adobe After effects. This is my second video trailer I made in AE, and my first upload on Vimeo. This 1:28 minute video took me acually 2 days of my life..LOL

Thanks again for all the support!

    Peter
