Located on the eastern edge of the winery, Renegade Ridge derives its moniker from the vineyard’s natural propensity toward excessive foliage, which must be continually thinned and pruned. Because this vineyard has a mind of its own, we farm this parcel biodynamically, trusting that nature has a method to its madness.

The eastern exposure of the ridge ensures that the vines get plenty of morning sunlight but are protected from afternoon heat. This condition not only helps the grapes retain more acidity, it necessitates a longer growing period for optimal ripeness. The extended hang time the fruit gets creates greater flavor concentration.
