Aplysia dactylomela is a circumtropical species, present both in the Atlantic Ocean and in the Indo-Pacific. In the Mediterranean Sea, Aplysia dactylomela has to be considered an ‘alien’ species, its provenance having not been established with certainty yet. The finding of the egg masses demonstrates that A. dactylomela is potentially able to reproduce and, possibly, expand its distribution in Mediterranean Sea.
Filmed with eYecam on august 2012 in Linosa Island (Sicily).
