What will happen if Northern Access is allowed…
• Hour long train delays. RR can’t operate responsibly. They already violate state law on this without consequence. State is adding fuel to the fire.
• Public Safety endangered as citizens cut off from emergency responders
• Destroys revitalization of Navy Base and surrounding communities
• Destroys hundreds of clean jobs to be replaced by a handful of automated container mover employees
• Destruction of business tax base may lead to residents facing tax increases
• Takings by the State aren’t free – each and every one of us will be paying the bill for the State’s folly. Total tab in the hundreds of millions of dollars.
• Litigation and violation of federal permit resulting from doing rail “wrong” will kill the Port that the State
Government says is so vital.
