There is little worse than having back pain. No matter if it is severe and feels like a deep pain or if it is slightly dull and throbbing, back pain is no fun at all and always leaves you feeling uncomfortable and scared to move. Unfortunately, I began having back pain at a pretty young age due to having three herniated discs. Back pain was something I had been experiencing for such a long time that I was beginning to think I would just have to learn how to live with the uncomfortable pain and aches I felt. But recently, after one of my appointments with Dr. Ronco, I brought up this pain and explained to him how I just couldn't seem to get rid of these two knots that made a permanent home in my back.

Dr. Ronco assured me that this is a common problem and that he sees many patients at Torrey Hills Chiropractic who have the same question. His experience shows that tension in the upper back and between the shoulder blades is often due to poor posture while working at the computer for hours on end. Often times when we work at the computer, we hunch over and are not sitting in an upright position, making muscles tight and more prone to injury. In order to combat this pain, Dr. Ronco suggests a 3-step stretching process, in conjunction with chiropractic adjustments, to relax and retrain muscles to support better posture. Good posture is key to keeping our backs pain-free!!!
