Another christmas gift to Valentine (Daisy's sister, Daisy who likes purple : vimeo.com/454256 ).

The bad drawings are bad copies of Nicolas Clauss superb mutlimedia painting : Legato
Here : flyingpuppet.com/shock/legato.htm
(The first time I saw this, I lost my voice)

Music : Tycho - 10 - The Disconnect

Photo to show the thing used : flickr.com/photos/remyyy/2172855353/

Conversion isn't really good. Didn't find a good way to make "small" with average quality.

    great idea!

    thanks !

  • This is such a wonderful and creative way to exhibit those drawings. Its weird because even though there's a lot of movement with the hand up to the bottle/lens, the drawing still looks so graceful. Well done my friend.

    Rems FTW!

Absolutely lovely.........a genius' work.....very original approach........my best to you for your very beautiful results.

Thanks ! I hesitated to cut the parts where I was showing my hands but I like timelapse and when you can see how it's "made" so I kept all that. And I'm happy it doesn't bother people.
  • You know what my best friend and I had that too with our CVN construction paper..how we tried so hard to not have our hands in it..but at the end with the hands we were okay with it, and even liked it. I agree that I like to see the process. I think if anything it adds to your piece instead of it just being about the image dancing, its more about the process that you did to get to the dancing image.

WOW Remi, this is awesome. I love the way it starts as a sort of photo-gallery for these stick-figures, and gradually come to life as the music speeds up. Amazing.

  • Remyyy plus 2 years ago
That's nice thanks, coming from you, though it's more me trying to copy another drawing. (I put my computer screen horizontally and use it as a support to copy, I mean, to try to copy the original drawings.)

Great idea, and it really worked well. The movement became so smooth. Really nice, Remyyy!
  • Remyyy plus 2 years ago
Merci ! I'm lucky with the smooth part because I realized that even if the lens and that glass, yogurt, bottle thing were almost the same size, I could have a really different place. We really see it when I'm looping it where it's breaking a bit. I didn't find out a way to avoid that.

That's a nice idea with an amazing result. Seems like a lot of work too.
  • Remyyy plus 2 years ago
Thank you ! It's not that much work. The most complicate (in my head) was to find a way to make all the drawing be at the same place on the "screen" which, ahah, I didn't quite get right.

Fascinating - it reminds me of the old flip-card trick, where you draw the character in a slightly different pose on a series of several dozen cards, then flip through them quickly to create stop-motion animation. Only this time you used glass, which let the figure float in the middle of the background.
  • Remyyy plus 2 years ago
I originally wanted the background to be integrated with the dancer, I mean, the dancer dancing (ok double) in the background but it was more complicate than I thought because the dancer wasn't really "still" vertically, so I gave up. And thank you sir !

Ah, thanks ! To me it's not art, it's more like a amateur short music video. But, thanks again !
