Golden sunshine, hot mix roads and friendly locals have enticed Victorian athlete Richard Coleman to finish his preparation for the London 2012 Paralympics in north Queensland.
The Geelong based athlete has been coming to Townsville for winter training since 2004 and says the consistency of north Queensland's weather makes for better preparation.
"In Geelong you may have one good day then a couple of bad days so you are not getting consistent training, your body is not warm, you are not getting the high speed into your body".
Richard is training for four events for the London 2012 Paralympics and despite being a veteran of two Paralympics he thinks London will be something special.
