This is a summary of a photo-trip by me and two of my shooting partners at the end of October 2011 to Yellowknife. Our main objective on this trip was to photograph aurora borealis (northern lights). Unfortunately, the weather was uncooperative; there was nearly always cloud cover during the three days we were there and on one day it also snowed steadily. There was about an hour during which skies cleared, however -- at about 1am one morning -- during which there was a modest display of aurora.
We had a lot of fun on this trip, not least because we met a new friend, a photographer from Australia, who was staying at the same Bed and Breakfast place as we were.
