After a lot of work and a crazy amount of soldering, here is the second prototype for an ir based "flat" multitouch system.
it works both for touch and hover (in the video i generally hold my hand about 3-5 cm above the lcd matrix (which is not lit here)
-It uses relatively few ir photodiodes (40 for an 8*10 cm surface)
- the data gets sent via serial to the arduino and is then displayed in processing
-the result you see is after a two pass interpolation (one "averaging" and the other one a 3*3 kernel blur)
-this interpolated "frame" is on the left side of the screen (in white)
-as you can see(hopefully) on the right side of the screen, is an preliminary version of an opencv based tracking system (open CV detects the blobs which i then process to do the tracking)
Sorry for the low quality video and if things might seem jumpy it is simply because holding a camera and doing the rest at the same time is kinda hard:)
