"Gun Violence and Gun Control," Philip Cook, Duke University presented at the Robina Institute Annual Conference, "Crime and Justice in America, 1975-2025," Thursday, April 26, 2012, University of Minnesota Law School.
Philip J. Cook is the nation's foremost authority on gun control and gun violence. His landmark book (with Jens Ludwig) "Gun Violence: The Real Costs" developed a framework to calculate the full costs borne by Americans in a society where both gun violence and its ever-present threat touch every aspect of our lives. He has served in a variety of capacities with the National Bureau for Economic Research and the National Academy of Sciences, where he has been a member of panels dealing with alcohol-abuse prevention, violence, school shootings, underage drinking, and the deterrent effect of the death penalty.
"Crime and Justice in America, 1975-2025," was made possible by support from the Robina Foundation and the National Institute of Justice.
