On the May 27th episode of Spark, we're doing a radio story about digital preservation. With that in mind, Nora took a trip to the CBC Radio Archives, where archivist Keith Hart showed her a variety of audio recording formats, including transcription discs, reel-to-reel tape, and DATs.

After we finished the video, Keith emailed me with an addendum:

"I neglected to make an important final note: That by any measure, the most reliable audio medium we have ever known is the LP. I can go to a garage sale, and pick up a 1960 Harry Belafonte album and it will play like it did in 1960. Try that with a CD in 50 years."

Thanks Keith!
