Jake Eliopoulos is an 18-year-old left-handed pitcher for (amateur) Team Canada. He was taken in the 2009 MLB Draft by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2nd round (68th overall).

Weeks before the draft, Team Canada was in the Dominican Republic this week playing at various MLB club academies, against their DSL teams. Top agent Edgar Mercedes was having a workout/game in the capital with 29 teams and 60+ scouts in attendance, so the Canadian team came to where the scouting eyeballs were.

In this look, he aggressively attacked the zone with a fastball at 90-92, hitting 93 with lively arm-side run, and had a slider and changeup that both were average pitches at times.

Eliopoulos is Canada's best player and, in this video, he faces Mercedes' two top July 2nd prospects, both 16-years-old: CF Wagner Mateo ($3.1 million to the Cardinals) and SS Rossel Herrera ($550K to the Rockies).
