Blair Polischuk's fine art black and white photography captured iconic imagery of Canada's west coast, in particular Hornby Island. His absolute dedication to the craft of black and white photography and silver gelatin printing was remarkable landing him in Black and White Magazine, Photo Life Magazine and the book Why Photographs Work. His photographic collection is available free as an ebook on polischuk.com/
This mini doc was captured during our last visit together in early August 2012. It was an cathartic shoot as the production of this mini doc added some purpose to our last visit beyond just saying goodbye and having a shot or two of tequila and cognac. During our last two days together we were both doing what we love, me talking to people about their passions with the camera rolling and my brother talking about fine art photography. Blair's 12 year old son Maxwell J composed and recorded the original soundtrack.
Blair passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 21 after a two year battle with ALS.
