"Fairyland" is one of my first songs for cello, though I figured out the chords on guitar before completing the cello arrangement.

The lyrics draw some inspiration from a book by Jeanette Winterson called "The Passion".

This is also the first time John and Jazz played on stage together. We didn't rehearse at all except briefly during soundcheck.

Don’t tell me you love me if you can’t show me
Don’t try to appease me
I know you know how to please me

Life is not a fairyland
You’ve got too many questions
If you keep on like this you’ll never get an answer

Time to let go came and went but still i held on tight
Until the clearest message sent arrived in my blackest night

I didn’t know but I should have seen
I didn’t see but I should have known
My precious bruised and torn
My fabulous weathered and worn

Life is not a fairyland
Don’t tell me you love me if you can’t show me

Trevor Exter: voice, cello, songwriter
Jairus "Jazz" Odums: bass
John Morgan Kimock: drums
