Onscreen audio meters in Magic Lantern
Demo of the audio level meters in the Magic Lantern firmware (formerly known as the 5D Mark Free). The AGC is turned off and the audio meter is calibrated from -40 dB to 0 dB with 5 dB tick marks, but the ballistics are not great. There are also full-time 16:9 crop marks overlaid on the video to help compose shots. Eventually we'll have selectable menus for the crop marks, the peaking speed and other features.
This initial proof of concept shows that we're able to run our own code on the camera and that we can add new features to it. For more details on the Magic Lantern project, see the forum posts: cinema5d.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=2494

If at all possible there are a million people that would consider you a god if you figured this one out.
Nice going on the sound BTW. Impressive.
Totally agree with Roberto... 24p and they will be bowing down. I will donate for sure. I really do not see Canon releasing 24fps... so we need guys like you!
I'm no sound guy, but if you can figure out how to put audio meters on the lcd, you gotta be able to go into the code and wherever you see 30fps simply switch it to 24 haha...
I know its not that easy
