This is a simple color grading/correction test (edited in quite a rush) of the RAW DNG 2K BlackMagic Cinema Camera files provided by BlackMagic. I used DaVinci Resolve (9 BETA) to color grade these files. I experimented with many workflows for these files, but the most convenient and error free one was directly importing the Cinema DNG files from the download into Resolve. I highly recommend that anyone who works with this camera use Resolve. As a word of caution, DO NOT import the files into Adobe Camera RAW 7 if you plan on importing the DNGs in to Resolve as Adobe converts the Cinema DNG into Adobe DNG which Resolve DOESN'T support, thank you to Rohit from BlackMagic for pointing that out. Overall I think the images from this camera are beautiful, and I think the DP did a fantastic job of providing files that had a variety of challenges like over exposure and under exposure which were easily corrected in post because the files are raw. I will be making a blog post soon about my workflow and what I think about the camera. Download the RAW files here: philipbloom.net/2012/08/23/grading-the-blackmagic-cinema-camera-dngs-in-photoshop/
