Gadzooks! A flaming bat-symbol! Ker-POW!

Made in Blender with meshes, procedural textures and composite nodes. Minimal fiddling in Premiere afterwards, probably could have been done in Blender's sequence editor. Volumetrics were not required.

Not yet, but there will be. Sort of. I'm speaking about it on Wednesday, pretty sure the talk will be recorded. Then the video and later the .blend files will be online.

Holy cow, that's one hell of a fire with Blender, Ben! *whew* And you only did it with meshes, textures, and nodes! Geez! Would you mind sharing us how you did it? Or probably the recorded discussion link? Thanks, man.

I don't know if it's just me but as I watched it all throughout, it felt like the bat logo was moving slowly downwards (which really isn't). Oh man, my eyes might have been burned with amazement already.

But I wished there was something going on in between or at the end with the flames, like extinguishing at the end or something like that.

    Really really really awesome! ^_^

I'm impressed. Did a lot with fire in 2006, and never had it looking this good. Care to trade techniques?

Cheers all. Been busy with my reel, which I can happily say is now done. Should get some time to write something up soon and post the file(s). For those of you who don't know - blenderartists (dot) org forums is where you will find the information once it is up.
