Peter Yates practicing "Farewell to Music" by Turlough O'Carolan. The story has it that the 18th-century Irish blind harpist and singer played it, went into his patron's house, and died. His music comes down to us only as melodies, so any other aspects are Yates'. The instrument is an arpeggione built by Yates.
Filmed at his home in Culver City on July 13, 2011.
This series of shorts is part of an ongoing attempt to practice filmmaking alongside musicians who inspire.
Directed, filmed, recorded, and edited by Ben Harbert
