Muralist and professor at GCSU Valerie Aranda tells the stories of the fragile communities that have inspired her bold and brightly colored community murals and paintings. In July 2012, Ms. Aranda met with a group of residents from Louisville, Ga to discuss the past, present and future of Louisville, and then communicated those memories and hopes about the town onto a portable mural to be shared with the community of Jefferson County and visitors alike. The community mural, along with Ms. Aranda's other paintings will be exhibited at The Fire House Gallery from September 12–October 13. The opening reception will be Sept. 15th from 7–9pm.
