It turns out that clean, sustainable energy simply makes good business sense, on a global scale. And there are trillions of dollars of profit to be made in the conversion from the 20th Century’s fossil-fuel based economy to the inevitable 21st Century renewable energy infrastructure.
This video is a preview of the full-length documentary film "Boom: The Clean Energy Economy" in development.
The primary audience for the film are those who can see and respond to the commercial opportunity in sustainable energy squarely in front of us-- those commercially minded individuals and institutions unencumbered by the remnant and often misguided momentum of 20th Century energy-economics, and who know from history there are massive economic opportunities in disruptive technologies.
Arguments around fossil fuels have been clouded by rhetoric and zealous points of view often rooted in conflicts-of-interest, frequently hiding from the populace many of the most amazing, real and tractable advancements in clean energy. And we’re not talking about the average Joe and Jo. From venture capitalists to commercial enterprises to city managers-- people who are neck deep in decisions that affect our overall economy-- most are oblivious to the true state of affairs with respect to clean energy economics. This film will remove those blinders, shining a bright light on the contemporary economic opportunity in clean energy.
Secondarily, we intend for this documentary to speak to the current fossil fuel energy incumbents, inform them, and compel them to move more rapidly into equally if not more profitable clean energy production and distribution pursuits.
It shouldn’t surprise us that there is resistance to the migration—both overt and covert—from some incumbent energy producers who make incredible profits from perpetuating dependence on fossil fuels. But rather than focusing on ideologically-clouded discussions about the environment, this documentary focuses on the incredible profit and massive numbers of sustainable jobs that can be made from energy production and distribution that doesn’t have the same socially and politically divisive side effects as fossil fuels, using sources of energy that will effectively never run dry, and the economics around which have improved to a staggering degree, and continue to improve. Some companies have already begun that migration in earnest, and this film will showcase them alongside the driving force of startups and research labs across the country.
Human innovation has and will forever overcome technological hurdles and challenges of affordability. This film’s purpose is not altruistic, though the benevolence to human kind will be obvious. Instead, it will detail and focus on the amazing advancements made over the last decade, the accelerating pace of advancement, and the real commercial opportunities in the clean, sustainable energy economy that make dependence on fossil fuels a distant memory.
SUMMARY of the FEATURE LENGTH FILM:
The film focuses on the practical economics of the rapidly emerging clean and renewable energy economy, showing audiences how far we already are down that road, laying out the logical, tractable path ahead to accelerating the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy, and focus on the opportunities now and in the next decade where innovative technology and big money is being made, and will be made in the clean energy revolution.
