Wasabi/Aloha!
It started with an email from Koaloha's PR genius, Tracy Larrua - Koaloha 'Ukulele had seen my cover of "Somebody That I Used to Know," and wanted me to be a part of their 'ohana. Cut to two months later - I am presented a brand new BEAUTIFUL tenor 'Ukulele on stage before the screening of their documentary film "My Koahloha Story" (koalohastory.com) at the Grammy Museum. I'm so glad I went - I was able to see where my 'ukulele was coming from - and what kind of people the Okami 'ohana were. From donating 'ukes to numerous musicians who love to make music (me included!) to helping third world countries build schools - their generosity and love for the instrument knows no bounds. I am proud to be sponsored by such a great company and family. So - the only way I knew how to thank them was by making this video - I'm playing one of my Grandpa's favorite tunes, "He Aloha No 'o Honolulu." Please check out their website for their line of BEAUTIFUL, handmade, custom 'ukuleles!
