On Tuesday, April 21, 2009, Bill Ayers, Professor of Curriculum & Instruction at the University of Illinois at Chicago, opened the Journal for Social Justice’s first ever Lunchtime Speaker Series, entitled Getting Schooled in Chicago. Professor Ayers presented on the topic of “Democracy in Education.” The event was co-sponsored by DePaul University College of Law Center for Public Interest Law, Journal for Social Justice, Latino Law Student Association, & the National Lawyers Guild. The Speaker Series was funded in part by the DePaul Vincentian Endowment Fund.
