Every day, thousands of children lose their baby teeth or have teeth extracted. Inside these teeth are adult, non-controversial stem cells capable of growing bone, cartilage, muscle, neural cells, and recently published - pancreatic islet cells that produce insulin. If these teeth are not properly processed and preserved - the stem cells are destroyed.
There are very few opportunities where the body naturally sheds valuable stem cells (stem cells from umbilical cord and stem cells from teeth). Today, nearly 5% of parents in the US preserve the stem cells from their children's umbilical cord... dental stem cells represent another chance.
