Bugle: 2012 Variety Bash Itinerary
Monday August 27th
Leaving Birdsville for a big day of travel will take us though Bedourie, an historic town that started life in the 1880’s as a major watering and rest stop for drovers and cattle. Heading further into Queensland’s outback, we make our way to Boulia which lies on the Bourke River and thousands of years ago was a part of a huge inland sea. Next stop, Dajarra. Once an important railhead for the cattle industry to transport livestock to the east coast ports and markets, until the multi-trailer road trains made it part of a bygone era. From Dajarra, we arrive in Mt Isa, our resting place for the next two nights.
