"We are all tied together in a single garment of destiny....I can never be what I ought to be until you are allowed to be what you ought to be," said Coretta Scott King, quoting her late husband, Martin Luther King Jr. "I've always felt that homophobic attitudes and policies were unjust and unworthy of a free society and must be opposed by all Americans who believe in democracy."

I'm glad the educated people of California are really stepping up against Prop 8.
Ignorance is NOT bliss. It's sad.
I have to read again what you wrote as a description, but this time with a translater, I don't understad all becouse of my poor english.
Congratulations Evanoah.
I go back to the days of the first Sydney Mardi Gras and the shit that hit the fan over that was unbelievable.
To see it today is something I feel Very Proud about knowing that I was apart of it's very violent beginnings from the public to todays event. The Mardi gras started out as a protest for Gay & Lesbian rights with a couple of cars and a truck to today's world class event of Gay Pride & Rights :))))
Great Vid Mate, Very well done Yet again :)))
BRAVO!
I have just been so moved by this - like americanvirus, I wish I could have been there...
The way you capture people is so beautiful and shows in this piece that truly at the core of who we are, we are all equal...some of us just have to realize it.....
Big love.....
What an inspired choice of backing music too.
Great Video Ev, loved it, much love to you my friend x
Just forwarded to many friends around the country.. (How cool that it's been forwarded to Adam...)
Reminds me of this Eleanor Roosevelt quote:
"You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face....
You must do the thing you think you cannot do."
and this one, from Robert F. Kennedy:
"It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped.
Each time a man or woman stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, they send forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance."
Thanks much for your work...
Regards from a San Francisco law student, (and major Adam Lambert aficionada!),
Lauri
i'm studying international human rights law, and your videos and art and public expressions of social justice will continue to inspire me, on this journey that does present many challenges all the time..
keep up the great work!...
take care, lrt
When I see vidoes like this, the work of Matthew Brown and many others, I wonder if there is a new phase of social revolution (sexual and civil) coming....
Thanks to the internet, we are becoming more aware of each others presence and this awareness along with the absolute fuck up by governments and banks might lead to the last great intolerance..... the intolerance of ignorance, secrets and lies. Hope so.
A thought provoking video.
Thanks
this video was my response to the GLBT community's request for artists/photogs to help cover the protest. while i am honored to contribute, being an unknown amateur it's difficult to get the work "out there" afterward without the help of others, many others. and so what i want to say is that... with the response this has received in the past six days abroad... that yes, there is obviously something special taking place. the global participation is impressive and is across all age groups from young adult to senior citizens.
thank you for adding your light. i'm honored.
Great stuff as always! Oh how I miss watching all these wonderful works of my friends here in Vimeo :D *hugs*
I wonder that personal freedom (gay, lesbian) is such a big deal there in the US, it seems that we're further here in germany - but sorry I'm not really in these themes.
