    beatiful!!
Please tell me about RR, and preset on Xha1.
    great!!

We used the RR1. We used a modified version of the VividRGB preset. I always felt that it was too saturated we took out some of the saturation - particularly in the red channel.
The main color look was through magic bullet looks.

    Nice clip Nathan
What lenses are you using on your blade?
  • Nathan Clarke plus 6 months ago
We used almost all Nikon zooms
    17-35 2.8
    25-70 2.8
80-200 2.8 (footage from this isn't in this piece)
We also carried a 1.8 50mm with us but we never needed it.

awesome work. forgive me for my ignorance (i dont own a xha1) but what is rr1 and how did you achieve the effect on 00:47
  • Nathan Clarke plus 5 months ago
We used an SGBlade 35mm adapter that allowed us to use lenses from my Nikon DSLR. With the SGBlade you can change out the imaging element between an RR1 and an RR2 (one gives you better low light performance the other gives you a better image.)
I think what you are referring to at 00:47 is the shallow depth of field which we achieved by using the SGBlade.

hey nathan thanks for the reply, for 00:47 i was just wondering for the actual look like the contrast/and lighting on the face did you guys use a certain light box it looks really proffessional
  • Nathan Clarke plus 5 months ago
Well it wasn't anything too interesting - the room that we were in was actually kind of like a patio with an open ceiling that had some plastic corrugated panels. This basically acted like one really big soft box. We positioned the subjects such that the light fell in a pleasing manner (since the room was basically the same background wherever we shot, we didn't need to worry about that.) I then used Magic Bullet to crush the blacks a bit and get the contrast the way I liked.
So it was just a matter of using what we had instead of creating something with lights.

Excellent work. These are the kinds of images and sounds that more people should be hearing...the foundations for dialogue.
