See all Show me
Today's wedding was great. Nate & Ashley are super easy to film and we just hung out and had a fun afternoon in the sun. Shot on a 5DMK2, 50mm f/1.8, 15mm & 24 to 105mm f/4 on a Glidecam 2000 Pro.

All audio is from the onboard microphone.

No slow motion, except a few clips which is not typical of my usual shooting style.

The macro ring shot was accomplished by turning my 50 mm lens around and shooting through it backwards. Thanks to gideonphoto.com for the tip.

Yep.. this one does the trick! Looks good.. much more you :D and still has a raw feel from the 5D (which is cool).

  • This is great! I love Everything about this. The couple, the music, the camera, and you nailed it! Loved the super macro! Cool stuff! Keep em coming:)

Thanks Chris. Everything came together for this couple...even though on the wedding day I had less than an hour to edit once I got my footage ready to go.

Did you use the glidecam vest for shooting this? I'm looking to be shooting all day with a 2000 pro with the 5D2 but am thinking that without the vest my arm might very well crash and burn.
  • David Perry plus 6 months ago
I never use a vest. What helps is to have a shoulder bag (I use this one: products.lowepro.com/product/Stealth%20Reporter%20D100%20AW,2044.htm ) to set my Glidecam on top as it then works like a tripod and gives my arm a break. Not sure if that makes sense, but I can post a photo.

Very nice. How do you grade? Whos your favourite videographer, photographer?
  • David Perry plus 5 months ago
This was graded with BlueFX for Sony Vegas. Inexpensive plug in that works great and doesn't take longer to render. My favorite videographer? Tough question - so many. Check out infocusvideoevent.com and reframecollective.com for some of my favs.

Superb work!! Do you ever use the IS on your 24-105/L with the GC2000 or no need?

I just got the 5d MII (replaced my Sony FX1) and just downloaded the new firmware for manual controls. Woah! This camera is amazing (hard to do real time focus though)!

PS: Any trouble rendering the 1080p AVCHD MOV's? My Sony Vegas Pro is currently crashing on them. :-(

    Thanks!
  • David Perry plus 4 months ago
Absolutely use the IS but the downside is that you can hear it buzzing on the audio recording.

I use Vegas as well so I have to use Neo Scene to transcode prior to editing.
