I did this short video in order to show how quickly low frequency detail can be added to a mesh using xsi's "local subdiv" feature.

Surely this method does NOT intend to replace the traditional sculpting in zbrush, mudbox or alike programs, but still is a fast way to add detail onto a hardsurface object. This can be further enhanced with normal and bump maps for high freq detail.

Similar method can apply to objects like wood and rocks.
