New Zealand Part I
To be quite honest, growing up I never heard of New Zealand until I saw the Lord of the Rings movie; I'm pathetic I know. lol I was amazed by its beauty and promised myself to go there one day. But I wasn't sure where in NZ I would want to visit until I saw this special on the Travel Channel about Milford Sound. I was just speechless after I saw the program and I knew where in NZ I wanted to see. I booked my flights and hotel at the nearest town (Queenstown) and began to prepare.
I also started to think about a song for the video; which I feel is the most important part of any video. After 2 months of listening to a variety of material, I finally decided to go with Sigur Ros 's Hoppipolla. I would listen to the song and imagine if I was making a music video in NZ. I always feel you can never go wrong with Sigur Ros especially when filming landscapes and nature.
Scenes are mixed with hand held recording and some using a tripod( did not want to carry that thing everywhere with me on my vacation!). Everything is edited in IMOVIE09; I have no clue how to use the Final Cut programs, IMOVIE09 is easier :o). I hope you all enjoy it.!
This video is dedicated to the people of New Zealand.I want to thank you for your kind hospitality from the day I landed in Auckland.
I also want to thank the staff from Real Journeys who made the tours very fun and memorable and the staff at the Mercure Resort for making my stay comfortable.
I feel like a different man coming back from this trip... can't wait to go back!

Loved your video. Been to these places many times & you've shown them to perfection.

:-)
This reminded me of the German Alps...it really got me wanting to go back!
Thanks for the info on the Japan post production. Just saw another mixture of video, still and music and they had coined it "fusion videos." Not a bad name for it. Wonder if it will stick. We are indeed seeing the pioneering of this new genre in examples like this NZ Video.
The video is absolutely gorgeous, thank you so much!
Also there is a nice lake side trail outside of the Queenstown Garden, that will take you to Frankton; where the airport is at. Very nice long walk.
They have internet cafes in town, one inside on the second floor of the O'Connells Shopping Centre; this is where the main bus stop is at. On the bottom floor they have a food court.
I recommend at least going to a restaurant called the Thai Siam for breakfast. They serve a good english breakfast, you will not leave hungry.
