This is an old telephone keypad being scanned by custom firmware on the avr-based Benito that converts the keypresses into midi. The midi is then sent over USB to a PC running Pure-data and converted into audible DTMF tones.

This is merely a demonstration. Soon this will be mounted into a dorky box and used as a general purpose button widget.
