Mozilla Firefox Competition

This is my solution for TABs navigation. The problem we are trying to solve here: How to represent TABs in your Firefox window when user has got more then 20 TABs open at the same time.
My solution would be to use FAVICON only and display the addition information on hover - Full URI and Delete button.

Sebastian Ortner 6 months agopretty good idea! Keep us updated on the outcome ;-) -
Roman Leinwather 6 months agoThanks Sebastian! I will keep you updated here and on my blog as well if Mozilla guys find it interesting. -
Dylan Berg 5 months agoI like it, but there would have to be a system where people can upload favicons into a library like personas and if the tab doesn't have a favicon firefox will automatically get the favicon from the library based on the site url. ;) -
Roman Leinwather 5 months ago@dylan - do you mean some kind of central library or every user would have its own library so he/she could upload images for sites which do not have favicons? -
Dylan Berg 5 months agoA central library, People could upload favicons and you can pick from the ones available and after you pick it, it will remember it and when ever you come to a site with that same starting name (ie. vimeo.com/) It will pick it. If you would like to change it you can easily go back and pick a different one. ;) -
Roman Leinwather 4 months agoThanks for the idea @dylan. Mozilla guys haven't pick this one but similar idea (using favicons) has won of the categories. Opera browser has quite interesting way of dealing with "Tabs". I will be watching with interest what will be the Firefox solution. Looking forward to that.
