In 2007, with the help of Dr. Jane Goodall a small group of volunteers calling themselves Shanghai Roots & Shoots set out with a dream: A dream to plant one million trees in China's growing deserts. They aimed to help combat desertification and help villagers fight for their livelihoods.

Five years later, they planted their millionth tree.

Congratulations to Shanghai Roots & Shoots for achieving an impossible goal.
