The Job of a developer has evolved strongly in the last 10 years, pushed by new requirements and new tools such as Continuous Integration, Test Driven Development and refactoring. Software Development Industry has now reached a sufficient level of maturity to engage into new practices such as managing source code quality while developing applications.
After introducing the concept of the internal quality (and non-quality), this presentation will show why and how to measure this quality in order to define action plans.
We will then see how to use Sonar to support such practice in a classical approach code, audit oriented. Thereafter, we will see why and how to go further by using the powerful differential views in Sonar to support a new practice : the Continuous Inspection. This is a important transformation of this practice from a control oriented process to a development support oriented process

Olivier Gaudin
Olivier Gaudin is co-founder and CEO at SonarSource, the company that develops and promotes the open source platform Sonar to manage source code quality.
Olivier started his carea in London, working on trading systems in the banking industry. He then managed IT for a startup, ran big projects such as off-shoring, CMMi and ran support and development departments. Olivier has developed a strong sensibility to robustness of processes and quality of delivery.
In 2007, Olivier starts contributing to Sonar and decides with Simon Brandhof and Freddy Mallet to setup SonarSource, the company that develops and promotes Sonar while growing some business around the platform.
