Wedding & Low Light - 5D Mark II in Hawaii
6 months ago
Just a little playing around with the 5D Mark II during a photo shoot with a bride and groom in Hawaii. Some of the beach shots are a tad overexposed, but there are plenty of low light shots too. I am having issues with 'dropped frames' during shooting at times with a 266X card. You'll notice it when the bride throws back her head and is laughing.
Except for the shots with tiki torches and the ending sunset shots, all of this is hand held footage. Only the last 30 seconds have some color correction...the rest is all straight out of the camera.
Lenses used were Canon 50mm f1.8 and Canon 28-105mm f3.5. This was all shot on the North Shore on the island of Oahu. Sunset was at Shark's Cove.

6 months ago Tim -- I would love to have an EX1 (not an EX3...I'm not interested in a shoulder mount cam) but the 5D footage is even more beautiful and I love being able to play with different lenses. And I could buy almost two 5Ds for the price of one EX1. (before I have to trick it out, of course!) So that's a tough question to answer completely. -

6 months ago Thanks! The contrast on this camera is amazing! That you can actually see the couple without the sunset being blown out and with NO extra light! I love it! -
Jeff Wilcox 6 months agoYeah - I want one of those!
