1. SLOW
An attempt to use stop motion and it's different time layers to express my perception of time...
Realized within 3 days for an LCC college project. The brief was to examine the term "slow".
A bit cheesy maybe, but who cares...

Great work, really enjoyed it. Inspires me to dust off the old Bolex and do more stop motion.

  • This was great . . . such patience and imagination of settings.

Somehow I really connected with this.
I'm really new to stop motion animation though and really want to try it out this summer. Do you literally keep the camera filming and then cut it afterward? Any way to briefly explain this?

Don't feel obligated but I'm very curious.

    Thanks,

    x

Dreamy, pensive but creative abstract. Could work for a TV commercial too, has that irreverent-but-relevant feel.

Looked cool. I like this type of stop motion because it looks really raw.

3 thumbs up. Gives me the feeling of watching old super 8 home movies of me gathering up easter eggs in 1979.
I felt like the words "Growth" "Change" and "Life" wanted a more hopeful melody, so I tried watching it to Elton John's "Honkey Cat." "You better get back Honkey Cat, Livin in the city ain't where it's at...Oh, CHANGE is gonna do me good..."

Something about that song turned this video into the happiest little film for me!

    many thanks
    Matt

Great job ! Love the sinking typography.
My next stop-motion project will too take place in the outside, hope it 'll work for me as it did for you !

I was wondering how many pieces of letters it must've taken to make them rise out of the ground, then I realized you just have to take on and shave some off each time and reverse it! =) Brilliant!

The music is great, too. :)

Great use of stop motion! I have visited LCC before and some of those locations looked familiar. I loved the type.

Great stop motion. Very accurate except I definitely saw your finger in one of the shots. I know it's impossible to go back and redo it, so please be more careful next time.
    Great job on timing (^^)

I enjoyed that, loved the crazy angles used for the shots. Did you create the music yourself? If so, how did you go about doing it? did you use a certain program or recordings? If not where did you go or how did you get the music you used?

Really quite eloquent and filmmakerly. Cheesy? Just enough to nail the comment above that it would work for TV. i.e. that's an OK thing, indeed. Nice work.

Interesting concept, love the meloncholy feel the music gave it. An abstract piece which shows a lot of potential for future projects.
