Stylish, sophisticated, international, cosmopolitan. So. Much. Fun.
Those are just a few words to describe Alexandra and Ryan’s wedding.
We’ve mentioned before how lucky we feel to work with clients from a wide range of backgrounds and we always love it when we witness two different cultures coming together. In the case of this wedding, Ryan is from Pennsylvania and Alexandra is from Romania. The wedding was full of Romanian traditions, including a beautiful ceremony at St. John the Baptist Church in the South End and some serious polka dancing during the reception.
Tom and I had filmed a few coastal weddings in a row shortly before Alexandra and Ryan’s big day and it was awesome to shift gears for a wedding that made the most of Boston as its backdrop. Thanks to the ingenuity of our cohorts for the day, Matt and Enna from Grazier Photography (grazierphotography.com/Artist.asp?ArtistID=2119&Akey=B2RVBF6S), we stopped off in some unique spots for photos and video before the reception. And when the bridal party busted out the neon Kanye glasses, well… let’s just say we were in videography heaven.
Alexandra and Ryan are perfect for each other– you can just tell. You can tell by the way they look at each other, by how they make each other laugh all the time, by how they needed no encouragement to do lots of smooching for our cameras. Their day was a true celebration and we hope this film manages to capture a fraction of the joy, the style and the electric energy that was Alexandra and Ryan’s Boston wedding.
We were lucky to be introduced to Alexandra and Ryan by the wonderful team at Boston Bridal Lounge (bostonbridallounge.com/), who handled all of the planning and coordination for this wedding. As you can see, they did an incredible job!
We also adored working with the talented, generous and fun photographers, Matt and Enna of Grazier Photography. Check out their photos of Alexandra and Ryan here: grazierphotoblog.com/2012/09/alexandra-and-ryan-boston-wedding-photography-seaport-hotel-wedding/. We also loved working with DJ Deja (dedeja.com) who was the first female DJ we worked with this season and who did a great job. We'd also love to thank the team at The Seaport Hotel (seaportboston.com/), we always love filming weddings there and look forward to being back for New Year's Eve!
One of my favorite parts of the trailer is the song we found, Counting Sleep by Trent Dabbs (licensed through themusicbed.com), which had such great energy and we thought Alexandra and Ryan would love since they're fans of dance music and 80s music. As usual, I couldn't get this one out of my head for days....
And if you didn't get enough of Alexandra and Ryan here, you may well see them making a cameo in our Aaron and Andrew video (thelonghaulproject.com/2012/09/aaron-and-andrew-best-days-music-video-stills-long-haul-films-first-music-video-shoot/). They were kind enough to come along and be extras and I'm pretty sure they're going to make the final cut!
