Roger and Hayley - Short eShoot Clip - 5D Mark II
6 months ago
During Roger and Hayley's engagement shoot I shot about 11 minutes of video on the 5D, in between shooting stills with Katie. The main purpose of the shoot was taking photos but I wanted to test out my new Cinevate DSLR rig.
The rig is not a beauty pageant winner by any means but in terms of functionality and flexibility it's awesome. I can hardly bare to look at the hand-held footage I was shooting prior to getting a rig like this.
Shot on the Canon 5D Mark II. Lenses used: Canon 50mm 1.4, 70-200mm 2.8 and 20mm 2.8 plus a Nikon 50mm 1.4.

5D colours are just awesome. I think Konrad and this video have convinced me to get one :P
I have in the past been very impressed by the 5D and this just cements my desire for one... :)
obviously the equipment is only as good as it's master, and you my mate have got some skills.
keep on rolling man.
Great job!
Cheers,

so romantic scene...
The mark II obviously can create some amazing images, but you have shown this.
I just hope Nikon's next release will justify my wait, and then it's goodbye to my adapter.
Peace :)
beautiful! how do you like the 5d now that it has manual control? have you gone full 5d yet or do you still use other camcorders?
from Spain.
May I ask why a Canon and Nikon 50mm 1.4?
I knew that before the manual control firmware update, Nikon lenses were a favorable choice for shooting video on the 5d. I was honestly questionable over the resulting quality and consistency of shooting through a Nikon lens and adapter, but this video really speaks for itself in answering those questions!
Do you have a site or link to some of the photos from this shoot? I would love to see how they turned out!
I noticed you had both a canon and nikon 50mm 1.4. You were comparing the two? If so, how do they rank?
I'd get the 50mm 1.4 and some sort of shoulder rig to support the camera and eliminate shake. I could shoot all day on a 50mm :)
My speculation is that canon will bring out something like a 1DS Mark IV which will be full-frame plus all the frame rates you need, and who knows maybe more features. I have no way to confirm this, just an uneducated guess :)
So purely simple, yet so brilliantly built!
Thanks for changing my mood!
