I am a black fella from the Sale streets my mob is from Alice Springs and South Australia way. I have played footy since I was under 10s and I'm still playing. I'm in the under 18s now. I used to just free rap with Darcy all the time but never took it up until I had this opportunity. I'm in Year 12 now at Sale College.
I quit school once but I went back and it's the best choice I have ever made. Through Koorie Heritage Trust I have learnt how to record, produce and edit my own videos and lyrics to make a song. I had a lot of fun meeting plenty of new people throughout this program. Thank you: Koorie Heritage Trust, Keith, Monkey and Mantra for making this program a success.
Blaktraks is is a youth arts program run by Storyscape and the Koorie Heritage Trust. The program runs 2 days a week over 8 weeks, and encompasses storytelling, music, painting/stencil art, photography, and video production. The idea is that participants, through these various art forms, develop a story about themselves, exploring who they are/ their own identity. These stories are developed into songs/music and short films which are then performed/screened at an event. The aim is to improve confidence and skills, and provide employment pathways. Participants can also gain a Certificate 3 in Arts Administration.
