Great movie!! So if I understand you did the whole film with a Canon still camera which provide video pictures and interval recording. Is that right ?
  • Sergey Yazvinsky plus 2 years ago
Yes, so. We used camera Eos 5D M2, Korean remote control and Сhinese pan-tilt head.
  •
  • Sébastien Périer 2 years ago
Very very nice movie. You have here some trully amazing shots.

What settings did you use for the rising sun to be able to start the shoot at dark and finish it near broad light without overcranking the brightness at the end ?

Did you kept a fixed aperture/ focal length/iso, or did you change it during the shoot ?
  • Sergey Yazvinsky plus 2 years ago
Rising Sun it a rising moon :-) little lie :) Settings be constaint. Shutter speed 30sec interval 40 sec, and it`s my mistake. If an interval to make less, it will turn out more smooth and beautifully. All settings are fixed.
    Iso 800, F 4.0, shutter 30 sec.
  • Etienne DADA 2 years ago
Great lie ! I was very surprised to see stars during the sunrise, beautiful.

Sébastien : I already made few sunrise/sunsets in P mode, the result is clean without any post-production (with an "old" EOS D60), you can look at them in this draft : vimeo.com/4706446 at 0:37, 1:36, 1:45, 2:58.

I also made a 30h timelapse in P mode : vimeo.com/4911336 . It's to much fast but the light is always good with very few flickering.

So does that mean that for the interval recording, each frame was a jpg file? If so it would mean that for a 1 second clip you would have 25 or 30 jpeg files and for a one minute clip you would have 1800 files to handle!! Is that really the case? If yes when you mount your video clip do you put in the timeline all 1800 files one next to the other? I presume this is so unpractical that you must have a better way to do it. can you explain ?
  • Sergey Yazvinsky plus 2 years ago
You right! Some frames retimed and realy contain more than 25fps. For 15 days we have about 30000 frames. Such quantity of shots gives more possibilities. At timeline i put jpg sequence. Sequence is a continue jpg frames with continue names. Sorry my English is bad.

You proved one more time, that close conjunction of love, soul and mind makes real art.
    Love it.

  • Furman Artjem 2 years ago
  • Sergey Yazvinsky plus 2 years ago

Adobe After Effects

hello Animi, wonderful/fantastic work!! Its superb!! and adding with the music it is really amazing!! but i also have few questions if you dont mind.
A: at the scene with car flashing through the landscape, did you filmed it or still timelapse? if is timelapse then is not that impossible with shutter set as 30sec?
B: how many parts were filmed in this video? cause i assume that the 2 train scenes are filmed and the eagles scene is also filmed.
C: from 00:50 to 01:08, it is definately timelapse but just curious what did you do with the pan-tilt head to make it move such smoothly and the clips are also moving smoothly?
my quesions might be naive for you as im just an amateur. if you could answer my question that will greatly helped me. thanks.
  • Sergey Yazvinsky plus 2 years ago
a: this is a still timelape

b: filmed 2 train scenes and flover, eagles scenes.

    c: yes i using pan-tilt head

    Good luck
  • Meng Zhang 2 years ago
wow thanks Animi, but still confused about two parts:
A: in that car flashing through the landscape scene, wat is your shutter time and interval time?
B: as ur using pan-tilt head, how did you make it moving such smoothly? i mean did you move the camera by urself? according to previous comments, i can see that for 1second clip in ur video there are about 25 frames, so how did you move the camera?
    appreciate for you answers!
    Dan
  • Sergey Yazvinsky plus 2 years ago
A; this is a night shooting and shutter speed near 10-15 seconds, without interval.

B; No i using automatic pan-tilp head, i programing paning speed.

    Animi
  • Meng Zhang 2 years ago
    whoo thanks a lot!

so wat type or pan-tilp head ru using?
