This is a demonstration video to show how "flipped" classes can work. The video itself presents a short lecture on the period in Chilean history directly after General Pinochet stepped down as dictator and the civilian leader Patricio Aylwin took over. The new President faced a number of challenges, among them whether to bring leaders of the newly departed military regime to trial for massive human rights abuses. Here, we look at the "Rettig Commission" - the National Commission on Truth and Reconciliation -- which he appointed to get at this issue. We will explore whether it provided truth, justice, or reconciliation. A number of questions are raised which will be discussed in class.
