Six and a half years ago, a friend, colleague and department chair, Steve Kirkpatrick died after a battle with cancer. I mostly think of Steve when I’m running by the dam by the reservoir and I am reminded of his idea of saving the world. In honor of Steve, I’m posting his speech to the graduating class of 2002 (roughly 8 months before his death).
