1. USS Kanawha

USS Kanawha is a big American fleet oiler that sank during the Battle of Guadalcanal. Now sitting upright near the entrance to Tulagi Harbour in approx 60 metres (200 ft) of water with the decks at an average depth of 45m (160ft). As a warship, it was heavily armed with guns on the bow, bridge, midships and stern.

    My Dad, Jack Hornbeak, was Chief Carpenter's Mate on the Kanawha when it was attacked on April 7th, 1943. I wish he were still alive to see this beautiful video. He would be thrilled. I am glad to finally see what the ship and the Harbor look like today.
