Like women seeking abortions before Roe v. Wade, trans people face psychiatric gatekeepers who control access to hormone therapy, and are often forced to look outside established medical providers in order to access the care they need, at great risk. Lauren Porsch looks to the history of the Women's Health Movement to argue against forcing trans people to receive a diagnosis in order to access vital services.
