There's nothing like a Just Drift event at Willow Springs in Rosamond, Ca. The Balcony may look simple, but once you drive on it, you fall in love. The last time I was there, I drove my car with an SR for the first time. This event I was not driving at all, rather filming the entire time. Even though it was a long drive and I was awake for a total of 48 hours straight, watching this video makes it worth it!

My last drift video had all but ONE angle, this time around I made a note to try to get as many as I could with out disturbing the event. Luckily Charlie, the event organizer, is the best when it comes to hosting an event. I never got any flack for getting in any ones way.

Sorry for the shaky filming, once we got to the track I came to the shocking realization that I FORGOT MY TRIPOD. So with my tripod over 7 hours away, I only had my handle that I made to film for the day. All in all, I feel the video came out quite well. I felt a little daring for the intro and tried some new things. Lets see if you catch it.

Please leave any comments, whether they be positive or negative. For a more in-depth description of the day, be sure to visit herofilms.blogspot.com
There you will find all my videos first.
Thanks and Enjoy!

Thanks guys! I appreciate the kind words. Mathew, that was some clean off-road-ing. It didn't look too bad, any issues with the car afterwords? Didn't look like it, you still ripped after that. Thanks again!

Had a few minor issues after that little incident. But nothing zipties and some creative thinking couldn't fix. Awesome video by the way!

hey doing that black and white with the color thing in a specific spot... thats 2 seperate layers with using a mask frame for frame??

Its actually MUCH simpler than that. I used the 3-way color correction filter on Final Cut Pro. If you have that, just add 2/3 way color correct filter to a clip and pull up the Limit Effect option (very bottom), from there you'll see which colors are being shown in the spectrum. Click the eye dropper on the right of that and click on the one color you're trying to keep, uncheck the saturation and luma boxes just below the spectrum, then decrease the saturation all the way down so your one color is black/white. After the color is completely black & white, click on "Invert Selection", done. If you don't have FCP, then this was a long post for nothing lol. You seem to have more experience than me, but if you have more questions, fire away.

Well, I use FCP and that was very informative, so thank you. I liked the concept as well. I especially liked when the (whose is it, Dousan's?) red 180 takes off. Good video overall.

Oh and you did fine without the tripod. I'd rather have a little shake than tripod skipping.
