SDC is harnessing kinetic energy during the Olympic and Paralympic Games in London 2012 with EDF! Discover technology which is inspiring, informative and entertaining in the EDF Sponsor Pavilion located at the Olympic Park.

EDF's invitation to the Olympic park: "Visit the EDF Pavilion and discover the magic of electricity. We’ll show you our brightest innovations, give you tips on managing your energy and demonstrate how electricity is generated. Drop in at any time during the Games. We’d love to see you."

The Olympic park is located next to the stadium and is open to every visitor of the Games. EDF as official partner and electricity supplier of the Olympics and Paralympics, set up an organic shaped pavilion to teach every visitor a bit about electricity and how much we rely on it.

The Sustainable Dance Club involves the visitors of the EDF pavilion in a dynamic light installation by providing 6 Energy Hand Pedals and 8 energy generating SDF modules as well as an Energy Experience. As soon as people engage in these Energy Games electricity, is being generated which powers an interactive feedback system: energy meters on screens which show how much energy is being generated and spectacular LED light tubes wich you can see on the photos below. Like this, we provide a complete and inspiring Energy Experience.

Who we are:
We provide human powered interactive floor systems for events, exhibitions and public spaces. We, Energy Floors, believe that consciousness about energy is very important for the creation of a sustainable world. Our goal is to create awareness about energy production and energy consumption by making it interactive and fun and relating it to human scale. By implementing human powered interactive floor as well as inspiring applications at events and locations worldwide, we create unique experiences for our client’s audiences. That way the public is engaged in sustainability and susceptive for the client’s message about energy. In 2009 we successfully launched the world’s first energy generating floor, the Sustainable Dance Floor, which has been used at about 350 events and projects over the past five years.
