I shot four different places for this assignment and met with different challenges. I shot on a boat, and got great photos but realized I needed a windscreen and some of the audio was unusable. I shot a pick-up basketball game and got ok photos and ok audio, but a directional mic (shotgun) would have let me isolate individual sounds better (shoes scuffing, players talking, etc) - instead it was kind of a broad mishmash of all the sounds. I shot this, which I did at home and was the easiest to isolate individual sounds with my equipment, but also the easiest to get access to (didn't require me to talk to strangers..) so I went out and shot one more, a car wash, where I had to approach people. That was hard for me, both at the basketball court but especially the car wash where people were more wary of me, but I did get several people to let me shoot them. Ultimately I had the same audio issues - hard to isolate individual sounds, so I built this one as my slideshow because I had more individual sounds. I will post a few of the others just for reference, and get a new shotgun mic for next time so I can keep pushing myself to approach people I don't know, which is my biggest hurdle I think at the moment.
