The Firelands Association for the Visual Arts (FAVA) and the Allen Memorial Art Museum (AMAM) collaborated on a summer art camp for kids ages 6 to 12. During the camp, students learned about a variety of materials, mediums, and techniques from practicing artists from around the city and region. The camp ended with a “closing reception” featuring a display of all the work they created during the week.
For the museum component of the camp, students visited the AMAM galleries and discovered ways to incorporate all of their senses into the art-making process. In this video, we see the kids thinking about how to draw different tastes, and using movement and motion to create large group projects.
