Calling this a "removal" is a bit bold -- it's definitely a big improvement over the original footage but it's still pretty much gubbed. Cheers for the examples and the links to the workflow.

Well, until a certain threshold is reached the shots seem static to me.

wow that is a huge difference. And keep in mind - this is and extreme case - most stuff won't be quite that jerky - this extreme version shows it's limits - but also how much better it is. Thanks for this...

  • nice to see it, but making sure you are not shooting like that in the first place is going to be the key.

Wow, thanks so much, I thought I was the only one liking how I play :P

  • Actually if your having this problem and have not bought a rig to help with hand held shooting. Lock & Load by CoreMelt has a Rolling Shutter Reduction tool.

I still reccomend you get a rig, the best one for hand held run and gun is still here

Great! Question: Could this software also remove the rolling shutter effect WITHOUT smoothing the motion??
  • hi, yes you can choose that option only.
it has differnt camera templates, so you can pick your camera from a pull down list and the list can be updated for current new camera. There is a wide assortment to choose from in the list, we use mostly 5D MKII or 7D but the list is extensive.
The plugin is not cheap, but it's cheap enough when it cleans up footage that would normally be lost.
