At the age of 24, Australian pro surfer Stephanie Gilmore has won no less than five world titles. That’s a lot. It’s more than I can ever hope to win, because a) I am not a woman, and b) I can’t surf. That’s right, I’m an Australian and I don’t surf. Sure, I’ve stood up a few times, but it looks like shit, and I can’t be buggered paddling out more than twice in one visit to the beach. Surfing equals exertion without gratification to me. So, why am I interviewing her? Because I’m the editor and I get to do whatever I want. I caught up with Stephanie right after her fifth ASP world title and asked her the sort of questions you’d expect from someone who knows absolutely nothing about surfing. Shaka. - JC
